All of our dentists completed their dental training at the University of Melbourne. They have completed further training, beyond what they were taught in dental school. They regularly travel in Australia and internationally to learn from the most qualified and experienced dentists and specialists, and keep up to date with the latest techniques and materials.
Phyllis grew up in Williamstown and after going through extensive dental treatment herself (including having teeth removed, braces, root canal treatment, and a dental implant), she decided to become a dentist!
After crossing the West Gate Bridge too many times, she decided to leave the hustle and bustle of Melbourne life and make Ocean Grove her home. She enjoys getting to know her patients and especially helping those who are anxious or nervous to overcome their fears, because she knows exactly what it’s like to be sitting in the patient’s chair.
In her spare time, you may find her taking yet another photo of the sunset at the beach (she can’t get up early enough to catch the sunrise!) or exploring the local wineries, restaurants and cafes.
Phil arrived in Ocean Grove in the 1970s, after stopping outside the Barwon Heads Hotel to ask for directions. Once they found it, he and his wife Loretta fell in love with Ocean Grove, and have raised their 3 children here. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry, especially seeing kids come in as toddlers and grow through to young adults.
His father was a dentist in Ballarat, and his brother is also a dentist, so it’s a family affair! He enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, bike riding, golf, and, of course, Loretta!
After 43 years of practice, Dr. Phillip Favaloro has retired in 2022. He would like to thank the community for entrusting him with their wonderful smiles.
Ricky worked in Nhill, Horsham, and Bendigo before deciding it was time for a sea change! Ricky spends his days off either with his family (especially playing with his seven nieces and nephews), golfing with his dad, cooking (this needs a bit of improving though!), or training for his next physical challenge. Otherwise, you might find his head buried among dental books, a habit that earned him several awards during his dental training and even the title of Top Dental Student of his year level!
